LEGO City Airport Review (Set 3182)

An airport is at the heart of any major city in the world. Passengers fly in and out from all corners of the globe connecting your LEGO city with the rest of the world!

The LEGO City Airport set is a fully functional airport, complete with aircraft, air traffic control, a passenger terminal and baggage handlers amongst others.

Passengers enter through the revolving doors at the front and proceed to check-in. From the ticket desk they then pass through security, complete with an X-ray machine, before heading to the passenger lounge and cafe to relax before boarding.

Meanwhile behind the scenes the aircraft has landed and the baggage handlers are busily working to ensure all suitcases are loaded. The aircraft doors are opened and the airstairs (aircraft stairs) are wheeled into place. It’s time to board.

Once loaded with luggage and passengers, the plane heads down the runway to position itself for take off. It awaits air traffic control clearance before powering up and full throttle and climbing steadily in the air. As this plane takes off and flies into the distance an identical (but with a different flight number of course) aircraft comes into view. Alternatively, why not follow the first aircraft as it lands in a different city where the fun can start all over again.

This set integrates perfectly with other LEGO city models such as petrol tankers (to refuel the planes), limousines (VIP travellers), emergency rescue vehicles just in case there’s an accident or even construction vehicles hurriedly repairing the runway before the next flight.
